LAC - Acoustic Localization of Cetaceans PDF Print E-mail

With the purpose of the underwater wildlife conservation, the University of Genova (Italy) needs to make a census and map the relative positions of cetaceans in the mediterranean sea.

Every species of cetacean emit a particular type of sound so it's possible to identify, via underwater acoustic sensors, the presence and the position of them.

The LAC (Acoustic Localization of Cetaceans) apparatus can recognize and map the position of the wanted species.
